Library card for District non-residents?
I don’t live in the Roselle Library District, in fact I don’t live in a library district at all! I am shocked and dismayed at the thought of not being able to check out materials on a regular basis. Roselle is the most convenient library to my home. What can I do??
We understand the problem. So our approach is to let you “buy” into the system.
If you own property, you can bring in your tax bill. We will look at the assessed value of your property, and figure the amount of tax you’d pay to the library if you actually did live in our district and charge you that amount. This will be one annual payment, and you will receive library cards for the property owner, as well as everyone residing in household.
If you rent, you can bring in your lease, and we will charge you a percentage of your annual rent. Again, the payment is annual, and buys cards for everyone in the household.
Whether you are a renter or an owner, your cards will be valid for one year from the date of purchase. For exact financial details, call or visit the library card desk with either your tax bill, or your rental agreement in hand.
So, Cal, fire up the pick-me-up, take a trip to the "big city" and join up. We’ll look forward to seeing you!
