|"You cannot uneducate|
the person who has learned to read"
I work odd hours and sometimes the library is closed by the time I can get there, especially on week-ends. I also go to work early some days and you aren’t open when I have to leave. How can I return my materials and know they are returned on time?
For your convenience, we have a book drop accessible from outside the library. It’s right outside the front double doors, on the east brick wall, to the right, when you’re facing “in.” It says “Book Depository” on the door, but you can return anything we lend you in the drop. You can put material in it 24 hours a day. We check it frequently when we are open. If you need to return materials after we are closed, just put them in the outside drop. We’ll check them in before we open in the morning. Nobody is here to check if your returns are in the drop at 11:59 p.m., or 12:02 a.m. So we check things in the following morning as if it was returned the previous day.
Should you unfortunately forget that an item is due (oops), if you put it in the drop before we open, we’ll check it in using the previous day’s date. That also means those DVDs you want to watch on Saturday night, that are due on Saturday, can be returned Sunday morning in our outside drop before 1 pm, and they’ll still be checked in as if they were returned on time.
Are you wondering about the image above? No, this person is not "Dear Circ" and is not employed by the Roselle Public Library. Nor is he a patron of ours. The person above is not known to be a famous author, although he has written a book or two, and many speeches. The caption on the photo is a quote from one of his speeches, made in 1984. Place your mouse cursor on the photo for the name of the author. For more information, go here and here.
