Do you have laptops we can check out??
|Portraits by Thomas Buchanan Read|
My husband and I like to work together on just about everything. We came to the library to work on some things and brought our laptops so we could sit together. Unfortunately, while my laptop was working great, his wouldn't power up, and his AC adapter didn't help. We don't want to sit side by side. That's nice for holding hands, but we like to see each other and talk quietly. What can we do?
Lizzie and Bob Love-Birds
Dear Lizzie and Bob,
Well, the simplest solution is to check out a laptop! We have some new laptops available to patrons for check out. They come loaded with Windows 7, Office 2010, and connect to our Wi-Fi, with a choice of browsers. Feel free to print from our remote printing service. We have flash drives and ear buds for purchase at the desk if you need them. You can check out a laptop for four hours and use it anywhere in the library, in our comfy chairs or at a table for two. You need a Roselle library card in good standing. Just ask at the Circ desk.
Are you wondering about the image above? No, these people are not "Dear Circ" and are not employed by the Roselle Public Library. Nor are these two patrons of ours. These two are Victorian poets and authors, and their union is considered one of history's most famous literary marriages. Place your mouse cursor on the image for the names of the authors. Left click the image for an enlargement. For more information about these two, go here and here. For more information about their historic correspondence, and see images, go here and here. To read the text of their letters, go here. For items to check out, try our catalog.
Do you have questions about the Roselle Public Library? Want advice about how to manage your account? How to find things? Want to know more about what we can offer you? Or worse, are you just lost in library jargon, and not even sure what to ask? Here's our forum for how to get the most from us, your local library. You can submit questions online to Dear Circ, or, as always, in person, or by phone (630-529-1641). Posted questions will be anonymous. Responses reflect the policies and programs of the Roselle Public Library, and may have no relevance to the policies, services, and procedures at any other library.
