One ringy-dingy, two ringy-dingy...??

"Is this the party to whom I am speaking...??"

Dear Circ,

The phone was ringing the other day and for some reason, instead of checking Caller I.D., I just answered. Usually, if the call is from someone I don't know, I just let it roll to voice mail, but I didn't this time. It was you, calling to tell me I had a hold ready. It was so nice to talk to a live person.

I just wanted to tell you, I'm so glad you're not a robo-call!

Dear Di,

A gracious, good morning to you. No, no, this is not the library police... No, that's just a slanderous rumor, there are no library police... Well, no, we don't know who would spread that kind of information... Possibly one of those large book stores...? We really couldn't say... Thank-you, it was nice to chat with you too.

And we just wanted to tell you, we're so glad you're not an answering machine...(snort)!
