Do you have a lost and found...??

Dear Circ,

I came into the library to do some special research on a project that started small, but I think is really significant. I keep a research notebook on all the things I look at and read. Anyway, I think I was working at one of the computers and may have left my precious notebook behind. Do you have a lost and found?

Searching Sarah

Dear Sarah,

We do have a lost and found! If you can describe your notebook, we'll look through whatever we have and hopefully will find it for you. We try not to keep items longer than a month from when they're turned in, but sometimes things stay a while longer. If there is identifying information like a name or a phone number or a library card we'll try to figure out who owns the item and reach them. However, if you haven't heard from us, that doesn't always mean we don't have what ever it is that you're looking for. It may mean that our detective skills were insufficient to find you.

Dear Readers,
Are you wondering about the image above? No, this person is not "Dear Circ" and is not employed by the Roselle Public Library. Nor is she a patron of ours. The person above is a famous librarian, historian, collector and author. She thought an entire culture was in danger of being lost and spent a lifetime finding it, preserving it, and making it accessible to others. Place your mouse cursor on the photo for the name of the author. Left click the image for an enlargement. For more information about this person, go here, here, and here. For a short video, go here. For items to check out, try our catalog. To explore other libraries, try this.

Do you have questions about the Roselle Public Library? Want advice about how to manage your account? How to find things? Want to know more about what we can offer you? Or worse, are you just lost in library jargon, and not even sure what to ask? Here's our forum for how to get the most from us, your local library. You can submit questions online to Dear Circ, or, as always, in person, or by phone (630-529-1641). Posted questions will be anonymous. Responses reflect the policies and programs of the Roselle Public Library, and may have no relevance to the policies, services, and procedures at any other library.
