Can I get a vacation check out...??

Dear Readers,

"Dear Circ..." is on vacation. But here is one of our favorite posts, and we hope, one of yours.

Circ

Dear Circ,

I’m going on a trip to Nepal. I don’t think my tablet will have service and I’m going for 3 ½ weeks. I really want to take at least a book with me to read on those cold mountain nights, just in case the meditation lessons are a bust. Is there any way you can help me?

"Poppa" Wasay Rowling-Stone

Dear Poppa,

Our patrons don’t stay put even though we are the best little library around (we just don’t understand…?!). And sometimes they go away for periods longer than 3 weeks. So we devised a vacation check out of 4 weeks. We don’t do this for new items, but anything that has a three week check out period is eligible for a one time only 4 week check out. Just let us know when you’re checking out and we’ll be happy to accommodate you. Travel safe! We love to see photos from far off places, so make sure you stop by when you return!

Dear Readers,
Are you wondering about the image above? No, these people are not "Dear Circ" and are not employed by the Roselle Public Library. Nor are they our patrons, although they both loved to explore all kinds of topics and places. The person on the left was also a prolific writer, author of 12 books. Place your mouse cursor on the photo for the names of the gentlemen. Left click for an enlargement. For more information, go here and here. For items to check out, try our catalog.

Do you have questions about the Roselle Public Library? Want advice about how to manage your account? How to find things? Want to know more about what we can offer you? Or worse, are you just lost in library jargon, and not even sure what to ask? Here's our forum for how to get the most from us, your local library. You can submit questions online to Dear Circ, or, as always, in person, or by phone (630-529-1641). Posted questions will be anonymous. Responses reflect the policies and programs of the Roselle Public Library, and may have no relevance to the policies, services, and procedures at any other library.
