I came in the other day and the person at the circulation desk told me my card is going to expire at the end of the month! I didn't know library cards expire... I don't want that to happen! What do I do??
Card Carrying Carrie
Dear Carrie,
Yes, library cards do expire. For those patrons who live within our district, we issue a card that is good for three years and the card expires on the last day of the quarter in which it was issued, that is the last day of March, June, September, or December, three years from it's issue. For patrons who still live in our district with accounts in good standing, we will automatically renew your library card and send you a postcard notifying you of your new expiration date. You don't have to do anything to continue utilizing all the great services and materials our library has to offer!
If your account has late fees over $5.00 on it, or possibly overdue items attached to it, just come in and take care those issues and we'll be happy to renew your library card! Bring in your photo I.D. or a current bill that shows that you still live in our district, and we'll renew your card for another 3 years.
Circ
Dear Readers,
Are you wondering about the image above? No, this person is not "Dear Circ" and is not employed by the Roselle Public Library. Nor is she a patron of ours. The person above was a famous author, journalist and feminist. Place your mouse cursor on the photo for the name of the author. Left click the image for an enlargement. Do you have questions about the Roselle Public Library? Want advice about how to manage your account? How to find things? Want to know more about what we can offer you? Or worse, are you just lost in library jargon, and not even sure what to ask? Here's our forum for how to get the most from us, your local library. You can submit questions online to Dear Circ, or, as always, in person, or by phone (630-529-1641). Posted questions will be anonymous.
